Vine tea，also be called as Teng cha or cany tea ,is a kinds of tea in China which made by young stem and leaf from Ampelopsis grossedentat，has been used in the south part of China for a long time. Even today，it is still considered as legendary healthy tea and widely used especially in the minority nationality areas of China. Modern pharmacological research proved that vine tea has a lot of activities，such as anti-inflammatory，antimicrobial，antitumor，hepatoprotective， hypotensive and antidiabetic activity. Therefore，it is a promising tea to prevent and treat chronic metabolic disease.
The phytochemical research showed that the main constituents of vine tea are flavonoids，in which dihydromyricentin has the highest content. Dihydromyricetin also called as Ampelopsin ,have ability on releasing alcohol intoxication, reducing oxidative damage in the body, preventing aging and Alcoholic Fatty Liver, inhibiting the deterioration of liver cells, decreasing the incidence of liver cancer. In these case Dihydromyricetin is consider as a good product for enhance activity of SOD, protecting liver and removing inebriation. Dihydromyricetin now entered clinical trials as a class of new drugs when researcher of Dihydromyricetin achieved a major breakthrough in field of anti-leukemia and medicine of Nasopharyngeal cancer. Dihydromyricetin injection is expected to be a new treatment for leukemia and nasopharyngeal cancer.
Report on Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology suggested that the Ampelopsis grossedentata is one kind of good natural oxidation inhibitor . It can reduce oxidative damage in the body, anti-aging . The antioxidation of Ampelopsis grossedentata were investigated comparing with the OH and O2- reducing ability of Vitamin C .
The result s demonstrated that the Ampelopsisg rossedentata extract could eliminated O H and O2- .With the same concentration , the Vine tea had stronger ability than that of Vitamin C for elimination OH and O2- , the half o f suppression rate IC50 is 159.09 μg/mL and 30.97 μg/mL , respectively .
Research report on SCIENTIFIC REPORTS said Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cellular oxidant stress are considered inducers of carcinogenesis.The results indicated that dihydromyricetin(DHM) could reduce Reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation in a concentration-dependent manner. Additionally, with increasing concentrations of DHM, the expression of proteins that participate in the cell apoptosis program increased in a concentration-dependent manner.
On World Journal of Gastroenterol scientists found that DHM significantly inhibited the migration and invasion of human hepatocellular carcinoma SK-Hep-1 and MHCC97L cells by decreasing MMP-9 protein expression. Moreover, the downregulation of MMP-9 is associated with an increase in the level PKC-δ protein and the suppression of the phosphorylation of p38, ERK1/2 and JNK in SK-Hep-1 and MHCC97L cells. These results suggest that DHM has a strong anti-metastatic activity due to its ability to restrain the adhesion, migration and invasion of cancer cells.

As article published on Chinese General Practice ,after treatment with ampelopsis grossedentata，serum levels of total cholesterol ( TC) ，triglyceride ( TG) ，alanine transaminase ( ALT) ，aspartate transaminase ( AST) ，liver TC，and liver TG were significantly decreased as compared with the nonalcoholic fatty liver model group and showed no significant differences when compared to the positive control group ( P ＞ 0. 05).Histological evaluation of mice liver showed dramatically decreased lipid accumulation in the ampelopsis grossedentata group.
According to report on Chinese Journal of Modern Applied Pharmacy Dihydromyricetin from Vine tea has a good role in the prevention and treatment of acute gouty arthritis, its mechanism of action is the inhibition of serum IL-1β, IL-8 and TNF-α production.This result was base on observing the regulation of dihydromyricetin from Vine tea on rats ankle swelling and serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-8 ,comparing with the control group use the colchicine.And the study shows the degree of joint swelling and IL-1β, IL-8, and TNF-α levels of model group were significantly higher than the normal group(P<0.05, P<0.01); High and middle dose of dihydromyricetin from Vine tea could significantly inhibit acute gouty arthritis in rats ankle swelling and reduce serum TNF-α, IL-1βand IL-8 level.
Scientists in USA determined dihydromyricetin(DHM) anti-alcoholic effects on animal models, and determined a major molecular target and cellular mechanism of DHM for counteracting alcohol intoxication and dependence. They verified DHM is a therapeutic candidate as they demonstrated pharmacological properties of DHM consistent with those expected to underlie successful medical treatment of alcohol use disorder.
